The Greyhounds won two of their first three home games, improving to 3-1 two weeks into the season.

They fell to Veterans 4-1 in their home opener last Wednesday before downing West Laurens 4-1 on Saturday in a game delayed a day because of a wet field and rallying for an 8-3 win over Upson-Lee on Monday.

They also had another game postponed last week by Thursday’s rain. That home contest, against Howard, will be made up this Thursday at 5:55 p.m.

The Greyhounds also have a makeup game at Dublin on Wednesday, plus their regularly scheduled region opener at Warner Robins on Friday.

Walks and errors hurt Jones County in its loss to Veterans, with senior right-handed starter Crandall Poore surrendering all four runs on five hits, four walks and three Jones County errors in three innings. He struck out three.

The War Hawks jumped ahead 3-0 in the first.
