The Lady Hounds split in the two matches, whipping Northside 5-0 but falling to Houston County 1-4 for their first region loss of the season. They are now 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the region.
Since both the boys and girls have split with Houston County in two matches so far, that means the April 14 meeting between the schools in Gray will determine the subregion champion and seedings for the Region 2-AAAAA Tournament to be played at John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon on April 16, coach Alisha Gordon said.
Against Northside last Tuesday, Jacob Wills lost to John Wharton 2-6, 1-6 at No. 1 singles, but Coleman Hice downed Omar Khan 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Travis Aultman downed Alex Chambers 6-0, 7-6 (7-2 tiebreaker) at No. 3 singles to give the Greyhounds the victory, as the Eagles forfeited both doubles matches.
