Authority Chairman Greg Mullis stated at the opening of the March 11 meeting that the members need to be on the same page before meeting with the commissioners. That joint meeting is scheduled for April 1 at 4:30 p.m.
Mullis brought up the possibility of a retail recruitment presentation by Jim O’Bryan of the Georgia EMC but added that he doubted if there would be enough time at that meeting for the presentation.
Authority member T.J. Heath said retail recruitment would be a good component to add to Development Authority efforts. He also said he has received a lot of interest this year about affordable housing construction.
He said the application to fund that type of construction is a scoring process, and the funding mechanism is federal tax credits.
