Mr. Kitchens was born May 9, 1926, in Shadydale, and had lived in Jones County for the past 44 years. He was the son of the late Carl T. Kitchens and Daisey Marie Folds Kitchens. He enjoyed talking to others, being outdoors, hunting, fishing or camping, and going to flea markets. Before retiring, he worked as the chief setup man for Keebler Company and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dorothy Louise Rozier.
Mr. Kitchens is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vivian Grimes Kitchens; children and spouses, Jackie and Hubert Rozier, Evelyn and Ronnie Adkins Sr., Carolyn and Wendell Smith and Earl Thomas Jr. and Susan Kitchens; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
