Hamilton, Nash win BOE races

The final but unofficial results for Jones County’s Board of Education election has Dr. Nancy Nash the winner in District Three and Ken Hamilton the winner in District One.

Jones County was the winner on the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax with a victory of 61 percent of the vote.

Nash took 64 percent of the vote for District Three and Hamilton 57 percent, which means no runoff will be necessary for the local races.

Turnout for the election was low in Jones County with 22 percent of the voters coming out to cast their ballots.
