A meeting of Jones County’s Human Resource Committee took an unexpected turn last week with recommendations slated to come before the full Board of Commissioners in June.

Committee Chairman Commissioner Daylon Martin was late for the May 22 meeting that he called for the committee, but the proceeding was called to order at 5:35 by the vice chairman, Commissioner Tommy Robinson.

“We can tweak it if needed, but we’ve been at this for 16 months and have accomplished nothing,” he said.

County Administrator Mike Underwood asked for a clarification of the motion.
