Investigator Kenny Gleaton said the department began getting calls late on the evening of June 5 and early morning June 6 as people discovered their cars had been broken into. He said reports were received for a total of 17 vehicles that were entered and one truck that was stolen.
Gleaton said the truck was recovered in Bibb County later that day.
The crimes were reported on Spradley Drive, Jo Lynn Drive, Joycliff Road, Garrison Road, Gary Road, and several streets in Hidden Lakes subdivision.
The investigator said they believe the truck was stolen first and the suspects moved north, breaking into automobiles as they went. He said several of the same crimes occurred on the east side of Bibb County, which were the same suspects.
Gleaton said pictures of the suspects were retrieved from surveillance cameras in a convenience store they entered during the same time period as the crimes were committed.
“We put their pictures on Facebook Tuesday, and the next morning, we started getting calls,” he said.
