A statewide runoff election will take place July 22 to decide which of three candidates will represent their party in November.

The runoff is a continuation of the May 20 primary election.

Early voting started for the runoff June 30 and will continue until July 18. In Jones County, early voting takes place in the elections office at the Jones County Government Center located at 166 Industrial Parkway, Suite 102, in Gray.

Early voting hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday voting will not be held for the runoff.

All Jones County precincts will be open for the July 22 election for the normal Election Day hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The question of who can vote always comes up in a runoff election.
