Mr. Jackson was born on Aug. 7, 1951. He was a lifelong resident of Jones County. He was a service technician at Sears, retiring with 27 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hubert Woodrow and Marie Etheridge, and brothers, H.W. Jackson and Harry Lane Jackson. He was a member of Hardies Chapel Church of Christ since the age of 14 and was a self-taught musician. He was worshiped by his wife and children and loved by all.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Shirlene Jackson of Gray; two sons, James Jackson and wife Angie, and John Jackson of Palm Springs, Calif.; his daughter, Julie Jackson Alford and husband Kevin of Haddock; his sisters, Betty Jean Roberts and husband Guy, and Charlotte Daughtery and husband Wayne; and five grandchildren, Olivia Jackson, Shelby Jackson, Haley Alford, Nicholas Alford and Katie Alford.
