Lady Hounds to visit Veterans for preseason tilt

The Lady Hounds began regular preseason practice on Monday following tryouts on Friday and Saturday to set the varsity and junior varsity rosters.

The varsity has a preseason game at Veterans at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Tryouts went well, now we just have to work to get ready to open the season,” coach Blake Lyons said.

The regular season opens on Saturday, Aug. 16, with a double-header at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. The Lady Hounds play Oconee at 2 p.m. and West Laurens at 4 p.m.

Jones County’s home opener will be against Georgia Military at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

The junior varsity also opens Aug. 19 at home against Georgia Military at 4:15 p.m.
