The suspect in at least three known burglaries in Jones County last week remains at large but continues to be actively sought by investigators.

Sheriff’s Investigator Kenny Gleaton said the first burglary took place on Graham Road Monday morning, July 28, and it is believed that an alarm at the residence scared off the intruder.

When officers responded to the alarm, they found the front door damaged but no one was at the house. The door had been forced open but nothing was found missing by the homeowner.

Gleaton said later the same day a burglary was discovered on Walnut Ridge Road when that homeowner came home from work. No alarm was present at that home and the burglar got away with several pieces of jewelry.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood looking for information about the suspect, and a neighbor reported seeing a gray Ford on the street earlier in the day that he did not recognize.
