Officer Jackson was dispatched to Highway 18 West in reference to a vehicle in the roadway. The officer spoke with the driver and discovered that the front wheel had fallen off of the vehicle. While waiting for a wrecker, the officer discovered that there was a rifle in the vehicle, and he knew the driver was a convicted felon. The officer found out that the rifle belonged to a passenger, and the driver did not know it was in the vehicle. The rifle was confiscated, and the driver was released. The officer later found out that the driver had lied about his identity. Jackson went to the offender’s house but he could not be located.
