State school officials are asking Georgians to chime in on whether students should have to take year-end tests during the upcoming school year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Saturday’s March of Peace took the same route as the annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade, starting at Mt. Salem Baptist Church and ending on the steps of the Jones County Courthouse. The Master of Ceremonies for the march was Rev. Wilbur Greene of New Damascus Baptist Church. Aaron Patterson spoke at Mt. Salem before the march began. Speakers at the courthouse were Greene, Karen Conn Mitcham, Tocarro Combs, Shar Banks and Louis Pounds.
