As the installation of the new playing surface at Greyhound Stadium forges ahead, the schedule of some of the contests to take place on the soon to be christened field is taking shape.

The Greyhounds have released an updated varsity schedule that now includes a home scrimmage on Aug. 21 against West Laurens to precede the Aug. 28 scrimmage at Houston County.

The Greyhounds will then open the season at home against Northeast on Sept. 4 and host North Gwinnett on Sept 11 before their first road game on Sept. 18 at Veterans. After an open date, Union Grove visits on Oct. 2 before a road game at Stockbridge on Oct. 9. After that, another open date will provide a break before four straight home games starting Oct. 23 against Locust Grove, Ola, Eagles Landing and Woodland before the scheduled season finale on Nov. 20 at Dutchtown.

The ninth grade and JV schedule kicks off on Sept. 10. The JV squad’s six-game schedule starts with a road game at Warner Robins, home against Veterans and Northside, at Perry, home against Houston County and at Peach County on Oct. 29 following a two-week break.

The Greyhounds freshman team hosts Warner Robins on Sept. 10 before playing at Veterans and Northside, hosting Perry, traveling to Houston County and hosting Baldwin on Oct. 22 after a week off

Both Gray Station and Clifton Ridge start middle school play on Sept. 9, although Clifton Ridge does host Byron for a scrimmage on Aug. 26. It’ll then open the season by hosting Henderson, traveling to Lamar, playing Gray Station, hosting Monroe, and traveling to Pike County prior to the postseason.

Gray Station’s matchup against Clifton Ridge is preceded by traveling to Monroe Middle on Sept. 9 and hosting Henderson. The regular season then wraps up at Upson-Lee and home against Lamar.
