Jones County’s April 17 Community Pride Cleanup was a huge success with almost a ton of trash and over 300 tires taken off the streets of the community. In addition to the trash and tires, six rolling containers of shredding were collected. The event was hosted by Keep Jones Beautiful and with the support of the Jones County Board of Commissioners. District 1 Commissioner Sam Kitchens once again accepted the trophy on behalf of his district for bringing in the most trash. Kitchens was challenged by District 3 Commissioner Wendy Vaughn and District 2 Commissioner John Wood, who both vowed to take home the trophy for their districts next year.
