First case of COVID-19 reported in Jones County

The Georgia Department of Public Health updates reported COVID-19 cases in Georgia twice daily at noon and 7 p.m. As of noon Wednesday, one case has been reported for Jones County.

All but two adjoining counties are reporting cases of COVID-19, with Putnam and Wilkinson being the exceptions.

  • Macon-Bibb County: 6
  • Baldwin County: 2
  • Jasper County: 2
  • Twiggs County: 2

Most of the state's cases are located in Metro Atlanta and Albany. The state's total cases are being reported as 1,247. 394 of those are hospitalized, and 40 have died.

  • Dougherty County (Albany): 109
  • Cobb County: 101
  • Gwinnett County: 48
