MACON: Frankie (Wimberly) Holmes, 89, of Macon, died Tuesday, Feb. 18. The family greeted friends from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at Gray Memorial Chapel in Gray. A memorial service followed at 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home chapel. Mr. Larry Shoultz officiated.
Ms. Holmes was born in Wrightsville. She lived most of her life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was retired from Thomas & Betts Corporation. She recently moved to Macon to live with her son. She was preceded in death by her mother Ida Lou Wimberly, a son Melvin Futrell, and five brothers.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Futrell Sr. of Macon; grandchildren, Jimmy Jr., Chad, Kyle, and Justin Futrell from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Christopher Futrell from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Robert Carter and Bobbi Gonzalez from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Cheryl Moore from New Castle, Delaware; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
