Five Georgia College & State University students tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and seven more on Monday, according to the university’s communications department.
GCSU recently launched an online dashboard on its website and updates daily. The data can be found at gcsu.edu/coronavirus
According to university guidelines, infected students are allowed to emerge from quarantine “10 days since symptoms first appeared.”
Georgia Military College, meanwhile, announced in a statement last week that the school was “aware of cases reported of students,” adding that the parents of students who are in the same grade level as the positive students were notified. The announcement was a reversal in policy from two weeks ago, when GMC emailed The Baldwin Bulletin and relayed that it would not offer any information on cases and that “we will continue to maintain the privacy of our employees and students.”
