Following last week’s spring game against Valdosta, the move toward the summer is next for the Greyhounds.

But before that arrives, the Greyhounds coaching staff as well as a few players put on the 14th annual Youth Football Skills Camp last week at Greyhound Field.

The three-day event, which ran from Tuesday to Thursday in the late afternoon/early evening hours, saw about 50 participants ages 5-15. During the camp, those taking part were broken down into three groups depending on age, enabling campers to get individual instruction from the JCHS coaches.

Activities included skill competition among camp participants with all being given a t-shirt at the camp’s conclusion on Thursday evening.

As for the Greyhounds summer schedule, it’ll get underway the week of June 7 with a 7-on-7 camp at Georgia and joint practice with Northside Warner Robins with offseason team activities (OTAs) and an overnight camp June 16-17 at Bleckley County.

The youth football camp also kicked off the upcoming gambit of summer athletic camp offerings at JCHS. The next two are set for the week of June 7 with boys basketball and soccer taking place. Info on all sports camps is available at JonesCountyGreyhounds. com
