JONES COUNTY: James Harold “James Earl or Jimmy” Bryant, 82, of Chapman Road, passed away Thursday, March 11, at Pine Pointe Hospice. Services were held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 14 graveside at Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. John Haney officiated.

Mr. Bryant was born Oct. 24, 1938, in Bibb County and lived in Jones County his entire life. He was the son of the late Felix Richard Bryant and Ruth Phillips Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a member of Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church. He was retired from Bassett Furniture Company. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Bryant Davis and brothers, Gene Lesley, Bob Bryant, and Billy Bryant.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his adoptive family, Steve and Joyce Grimes and their children, Darrell Grimes, Doug (Shayna) Grimes, Derek (Kimberly) Grimes, and Denise (Travis) Steed as well as their grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church, 132 Pitts Chape Road, Macon, Georgia 31217 or to the donor’s charity of choice.
