Jonathan “J.B.” Davenport

HADDOCK: Jonathan “J.B.” Davenport, 89, of Haddock, passed away Thursday, October 25, at his home. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 28, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. The Reverend Debbie Wallace officiated. The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Davenport was a member of Haddock United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He worked at Riverside Ford as a mechanic for 40 years. He loved gardening, fishing, bee-keeping, and wine making. Mr. Davenport, along with his best friend, Foye Tinsley, were former members of the Macon Motorboat Club. Mr. Davenport is predeceased by his daughter, Rebecca Sue Cranford and son, Anthony Davenport.

Mr. Davenport is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia Visage Bray Davenport of Haddock; sons, Jonathan Davenport Jr.of Haddock and Phillip Davenport of Macon; grandchildren, Rachael (Robin) Williams of Jones County, Rosanne Clark of Macon, Jessica Matthews of Jones County, Jennifer Bond of Utah, Christopher Davenport of South Carolina, Crystal Davenport of South Carolina, Jessica Davenport Wolf of California, and Garrett Davenport of California; and nine great-grandchildren.
