Jones County swept Woodland-Stockbridge in a twice-postponed tennis match at home on Friday.
Originally scheduled for Feb. 11, the March 5 remake was also postponed a day by rain.
But when the teams were finally able to play last Friday, the Jones County girls and boys both won 4-1.
The Lady Hounds are now 2-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 4-5A. The Greyhounds are 1-3 and 1-1.
Another region match at Ola last Tuesday was rained out and has been rescheduled for March 25.
Jones County was to visit Eagle’s Landing Tuesday and is scheduled to host Locust Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
For the Lady Hounds against Woodland, Rylee Veal won 8-3 over Carrington Blakley and Jalisa Williams won 9-7 over Aleisha Strawbridge in singles. Haley Favors lost to Jordynn Shirley 8-2.
In doubles for Jones County, Sierra Hursey and Natalie Wommack defeated Alaina Thompson and Abigail Thompson 8-2, and Ashlyn Rowland and Emma Randall defeated Whitney Block and Kathy Tran 8-0.
Sam Caldwell defeated Joshua Reese 8-5 and Ethan Knight defeated Justin Doe 9-7 in singles for the Greyhounds. Michael Harris fell 8-6 to Desmond Brown.
Both of Jones County’s doubles teams won - Jackson Taylor and A.J. Pounds 8-1 over Zachary Able and Terence Shields, and Daniel Hursey and Fred Ogletree 8-5 over Tyler Powell and Quincy Wood.
