Lady Hounds split a pair, Hounds fall at Woodland

The Jones County varsity girls split a pair of matches last week, losing 6-2 to Stratford at home on Thursday but beating Woodland 8-0 in a region match in Stockbridge on Friday.

The Lady Hounds improved to 6-3-1 on the season and are 2-0 in Region 4-5A.

The Greyhounds did not play Stratford. They lost 5-2 at Woodland, so they are now 3-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the region.

The varsity teams are scheduled to play at Ola this Friday.

Middle school

The Lady Hounds lost 2-0 to ACE at Wesleyan College last Monday. Keeper Rylie Faulk had 10 saves and Reagan Sorrell added nine saves.

The Jones County girls lost 1-0 to Crawford County at home last Thursday. Faulk had six saves, Ana-Marie Land three and Sorrell two.

And the Lady Hounds lost 10-0 to Monroe County at home on Monday. Faulk had 12 saves.

The Jones County boys lost to ACE 6-0 but defeated Crawford County 3-1 last week. On Monday, the Hounds lost 6-1 to Monroe County.

The girls are now 3-4-1 and the boys are 2-5.

Last Tuesday’s home matches with Fort Valley were postponed until March 12.
