Myrtice C. Roberts, 86, of Gray, died Wednesday, Sept. 1. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Elam Baptist Church. The Reverend Gary Thomas officiated. The funeral was livestreamed on the YouTube channel ‘Elam Baptist Church Gray Georgia’ and the Facebook page of Elam Baptist Church. Graveside services were private at Highview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Roberts’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Daughter of the late George David and Clara Windham Childree, Mrs. Roberts was a member of Elam Baptist Church. She retired from Tri-Co EMC with almost 30 years of service. Mrs. Roberts was the rock of the family. Her family is a very close family, all living within a quarter mile of each other. She loved working in her garden and yard, and she loved to dance.

Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Weyman Roberts.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by her children, Randy Roberts, Diane Wade, Denise (Johnny) Watson, and Keith Roberts, all of Jones County; grandchildren, Greg (Celeste) Tyson, Ashley (Sean) Brodie, Chad (Teri) Jackson, Brad (Jessica) Jackson, Caitlin (Matt) Taylor, and Dawson (Victoria) Roberts; great-grandchildren, Tristan Tyson, Talon Tyson, Beau Brodie, Monroe Brodie, Max Jackson, Zoey Jackson, Parker Jackson, and Lochlan Taylor; sister, Edna (Chuck) Blalock of Perry; and loving friend, E.Y. Stokes.
