Sign-ups open for new volleyball team

Olivieri, Paulk are picked to coach JCHS Lady Hounds this fall

Jones County High School is adding a girls’ volleyball team for this fall, and those interested in playing are asked to e-mail their names to be included on a contact list.

Ladonna Olivieri, a teacher at Clifton Ridge who has a son who signed to play college volleyball, will be the head coach, and Amanda Paulk will be her assistant.

Due to the shutdown for the coronavirus, they are waiting for clearance to schedule tryouts but hope they can take place sometime in June.

To be eligible, girls must be incoming freshmen or students at Jones County High School with grade-eligibility and a current sports physical.

The coaches are planning a TEAMS channel, a Twitter Chanel, and a Facebook page to help with communication and provide activities to prepare players for tryouts and practice.

Those wishing to participate should e-mail or Apaulk@jones. to be placed on the contact list.
