In addition to being the inaugural season of volleyball at Jones County High School, another milestone takes place this week with the first varsity home matches in school history.
The Lady Greyhounds host Northside on Thursday in a match scheduled for 5 p.m. that will also include the junior varsity squad taking the court. JCHS is also scheduled to host Central on Sept. 24.
The Lady Greyhounds continue to take on varied levels of competition, showing a continual building of grit and determination.
Last Tuesday, the Lady Greyhounds bounced back from a 25-4, 25-2 loss to Ola in the first half of a dual match to draw within a closer margin against Stockbridge, losing 25-16 and 25-4.
In the combined matches, Kaitlyn Pauldo had a combined six kills at the net with Avy Batchelor having a combined four via the serve. Jordenn Jones had three kills at the net against Stockbridge while Paige Pietrick had two. Zariah Green had one kill at the net and another via serve.
