Wear It Again Consignment & Thrift, a local consignment shop in Gray, is now open for business with a new owner.
The shop sells gently used clothing and other items at an affordable price.
The shop is located at 204 East Clinton Street in Gray, and is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To contact staff, call 478-951-5558.
Libby Nasworthy, the owner of Wear It Again, said she’s from Lizella originally, but has lived in Baldwin County and on Joycliff in Jones County. She said she moved to Arizona for a little while, but then came back to Jones County, where she’s been for over 30 years now.
“I love this county because we’ve never had issues,” she said. “Butch Reece is great because he doesn’t put up with anything. The schools have always been great, and everyone gets along so well. It’s just a great county to raise a family in.”
Nasworthy said she’s excited to be back open. She said they sell purses, clothing, jewelry, shoes, baby clothing, toddler clothing, children’s clothing, plus size clothing, flower arrangements, home decor, and more.
“Wear It Again is mostly a consignment shop. We have clothing, furniture, kitchen items, and more. We’re here to offer items to the community at an affordable price. A lot of items come in new and with tags still on them,” Nasworthy said.
She said she is now a Dixie Belle Paint rep. Dixie Belle is a line of paint products that is a chalk mineral paint. She said the paint can be used outside and inside, on wood, glass, metal, and fabric. She said Dixie Belle will be sold in the store.
“Wear It Again gives people options,” Nasworthy said. “Whether you have high or low income, you can come in and purchase something gently used. We try to sell something here for women, men and children. Everyone loves getting a bargain.”
The shop owner said the store has been in business for about three years and she took over in March. She said she wanted the shop because she likes to work, and it was a good opportunity for her.
“We were open for a few weeks before the Coronavirus, then we were closed until June 3. Everything just sat here and we couldn’t sell anything. I wasn’t making any income in all that time, so we’re ready to get more stuff out and get back into the swing of things,” she said.
Nasworthy said she gets the items for Wear It Again from people bringing them to the shop. She said some people prefer to donate the items, while others get a little money back for what they bring in. She said if items don’t sell in the store, they are donated to churches in the local area.
She said she really enjoys the people who come into the shop. She said she has a lot of regulars who frequent the store, brightening her day. She said she has people from Sandersville and Milledgeville visiting the shop, too.
“People should shop here because you can get some really awesome deals,” Nasworthy said. “It’s just great produ cts like Under Armour, Ralph Lauren, and Columbia. There’s such a good variety of items to pick from.”
