MACON: William DeVon “Bill” Jones, 74, died Saturday March 2, at a local hospital. Funeral services were be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, graveside at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Rev. Will Johnston officiated.
Mr. Jones was born March 21, 1944, in Savannah and had lived most of his life in the middle Georgia area. He was the son of the late Buel DeVon Jones and Eloise Pippin Earl. Mr. Jones was a “Mr. Fix-it” and loved to hunt, fish, and was a big flirt. He loved to play jokes on people and take wild go-kart rides. Mr. Jones also raised beagles and was a very organized “neat freak.” He never missed an opportunity to thank the Lord for all the blessing bestowed in his life.
Mr. Jones is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Melody and Heath Howell and Christie Queener; grandchildren, Haley Howell, Scarlett Mines, and Joshua Mines; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Randy Serbula; sister-in-law, Kay Jones; and his canine companion for over 12 years, Alfie.
