Bobby G. Barnes

MACON: Bobby G. Barnes, 76, of Bowers Drive, died Sunday at a local hospice facility. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Charles Carter will officiate.

Mr. Barnes was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Jackson and had lived in the Macon area most of his life. He was the son of the late James Thornton and Margaret Francis Thornton.  He was a self-employed truck driver and was preceded in death by his wife, Jane J. Barnes.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Tiffany Barnes, Billy and Denise Barnes, Terry Wayne Barnes and Randy Barnes; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Mike Beard; brother, Larry Thornton; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Charles Williams; and by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted, however those who wish may make contributions to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Ga. 31210.
