Burglary investigation nets four arrests

The investigation of a burglary led to the arrests of the suspected burglar and three others after the discovery of a marijuana grow.

Brandon Dakota Betts, 27, was arrested Feb. 22 on a parole violation, with more charges to follow.

Also arrested Feb. 22 were David Jeremiah Smith, 39, and Tara Lynne Smith, 30, for cruelty to children, hindering apprehension of criminal, and the purchase, possession, manufacture and distribution or sale of marijuana.

Danielle Denice Jackson, 35, was arrested the same day on the charge of hindering apprehension of a criminal.

Jones County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Jarrod Elrod, who handled the investigation, said Betts was being sought Feb. 22 for burglary and the theft of checks from a Jones County residence.
