Commissioners cut impact fees to $0

Jones County commissioners had the first reading of an ordinance to reduce impact fees and voted to give relief to county water customers who want to water their yards at their first Tuesday meeting.

Board Chairman Chris Weidner called the April 4 Board of Commissioners’ meeting to order and recognized zoning officer Tim Pitrowski, who brought the first agenda item.

Pitrowski explained that Greater Faith Revelational Outreach Ministries Church requested a conditional use to allow a church cemetery. The property is located at 1501 Highway 22 East.

He said the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval and the Board of Appeals & Adjustments approved the request.

The commissioners unanimously approved the request for the cemetery.

Impact fees

The reduction of Jones County’s impact fees was the first new business item. Board members had their first reading of the ordinance that would take the county’s impact fees to zero.
