Four armed robbers plead guilty
Four out of five individuals arrested in August of 2016 for armed robbery at a Jones County residence entered guilty pleas Monday morning in Superior Court.
The first to enter his plea March 27 was Deonquarius Takorey Fielder, and he was followed by Mateen Otis Bryant, Dequavius Antwan Hunter and Kaitlyn Jean Middlebrooks.
Jeremiah David Hunt was the only defendant in the case who did not plea Monday morning.
The courtroom was filled by dozens of family members of the defendants, mostly in tears, who stood with their loved ones as they were being sentenced.
The five defendants were arrested Aug. 18 and indicted on the charges Oct. 13, 2016. Fielder, Bryant, Hunter and Hunt were all charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, and two counts violation of street gang terrorism and prevention act.
Middlebrooks was charged with three counts of armed robbery and three counts of aggravated assault.
