Happy homecoming for Hounds

The Greyhounds had a happy homecoming Friday night, whipping Union Grove 42-10 before a packed house to improve to 7-0 on the season.
Former Jones County coach and school superintendent Linton Jordan attended as the homecoming grand marshall, which was quite fitting as the victory tied the school record for a winning streak to start a season that Jordan’s 1961 team set.
Senior Drake Bolus returned the game’s opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown to begin a dominating first half for the Greyhounds.
He also scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 7 yards and on a 20-yard reception from Teldrick Ross. Ross also completed a 36-yard touchdown pass to Jontavias Robertson, and JaDarien Boykin recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown as the Greyhounds raced out to a 42-0 lead.
Union Grove scored on a 39-yard field goal on the final play of the first half and added a 43-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter for its only scores.
Triston Skinner was crowned homecoming queen at halftime.
The Greyhounds play at Ola next Friday night before finishing the regular season with home games against Stockbridge and Dutchtown.
