Mary Wood Jackson

GRAY:  Mary Wood Jackson, 75, of Jackson Place, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at a local hospital.  The family greeted friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at Elam Baptist Church.  Memorial services followed in the church sanctuary.  The Rev. Gary Thomas officiated.

Mrs. Jackson was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Laurens County, and had lived in Jones County for the past 43 years.  She was the daughter of the late Elbert Wood and Sybil Wilkes Wood.  Mrs. Jackson was a member of Elam Baptist Church, where she taught the youth Sunday school class.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Amos Franklin Jackson of Gray; son, Frankie Jackson Jr. of Gray; daughter, Christine Suma of Gray; brother, Jerry Wood of Macon; sister, Peggy Ray of Panama City, Fla.; and grandchildren, Jake Jackson, Kevin Jackson and Adam Schaflauer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elam Baptist Church, 203 Elam Church Road, Gray, GA 31032.
