SEASON PREVIEW: Eye on the prize: Playoffs

The Greyhounds graduated nine players off of last year’s team, many who were lineup regulars.

But the cupboard isn’t exactly bare for the 2018 season.

Jones County returns 10 players who started or saw significant playing time with the varsity last season, and there is another half dozen or so who were junior varsity starters who have moved up.

“We’re a little young, in a way, but I think we have seven guys who have started games on the varsity for us,” said Jason Page, who begins his fourth season as head coach. “So we have plenty of experience in the core of the lineup.”

The Greyhounds opened the season on the road last week. Their home opener is today against West Laurens at 6 p.m., and they have a home doubleheader against Adairsville on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
