Son granted bond in mother’s mauling
A Jones County man indicted on charges of exploitation and intimidation of an elder person, cruelty to animals and reckless conduct was granted bond in Jones County Superior Court.
Peyton Norman was in Jones County Superior Court April 6 seeking bond, which was granted by Superior Court Judge Alison Burleson after listening to arguments from the state and defense attorneys.
The bond was in the amount of $50,000, and it was required to be cash or commercial. He posted bond and was released that same afternoon.
Senior Assistant District Attorney Dawn Baskin represented the state in the bond motion and told the court Norman was indicted Feb. 8 on 19 counts.
