Teen who shot accomplice wanted for burglaries

Four Jones County burglaries are believed to be the work of two burglars from Macon, one of which was shot and killed by the other.

Jones County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Kenny Allen said he is convinced that four burglaries that were reported in four days involving residences in the southern part of the county were committed by James Robert Young and his 16-year old accomplice. The juvenile fled after the June 19 shooting but was captured by U.S. Marshals with the Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force June 30.

The investigator said the homes in Jones County were broken into the same way and the items stolen were also similar.
