Two scouts become Eagles

Two young men, Tristan Fordham and Zakary Kent, stood before their families and friends at Gray United Methodist Church June 10 and were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by Troop 119.

Fordham and Kent represented their troop at the ceremony by displaying the honor, respect and leadership they had been taught.

“In scouting, the Eagle is the pinnacle of achievement for being a scout, so to achieve it is just awesome,” Jon Kent, Zakary’s father, said. “The attainment of all the things you have to do to get that means that you’ve got willpower, organization and people around you that want you to succeed.”

Jon Kent was proud of the young men being honored and was glad they were able to reach the achievement before they turned 18 years old.
