“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3). “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (John 3:7)

In talking about salvation, Jesus introduced a new term concerning it. He called it “born again”. He told a listener that in order to enter the Kingdom of God, he had to be born again. Thus the terms “saved” and “born again“ mean the same thing.

In order for people to come into this world, they must be physically born into it. In order for people to come into God’s Kingdom, they must be spiritually born into it. Of course, a baby has no choice in being born. The child, by natural means, is forced into this world whether it wants to or not. But with being born again, the person has a choice to make. Jesus will not force anyone to be saved; to be born into His Kingdom. Each individual decides that for their selves.

When a person is born again into God’s Kingdom, they become a child of God, just as a physical baby by being born is a child of its parents. While Jesus is the only begotten child of God (John 3:16), we who are born again are spiritual children of God, even adopted by the Father to be His children completely (Ephesians 1:5), with all the rights and privileges that accompany being His child. Born again people have all the benefits of a child of God: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and jointheirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together,” (Romans 8:17). Joint-heirs with Jesus! Share and share alike in the Kingdom! What a truth!

Have you been born again? Make the right choice and call on Jesus and be born again today.
