JONES COUNTY: Michael James Hinson, “Rabbit”, 66, of Pecan Drive, died Tuesday, August 21, at PinePointe hospice facility. The family greeted friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Shurlington Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, at Shurlington Church of the Nazarene with interment at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Rev. Ronnie Griffin, Rev. Ronnie Hinson, and Rev. Billy Beasley officiated.

Mr.HinsonwasbornJuly23, 1952, in Macon and has lived in Jones County most of his life. He was the son of the late Otis B. Hinson and Mattie Louise Moore Hinson. Mr. Hinson was formerly employed with Tommy Griffin Plumbing, Slim Roland’s Texaco, and BFI Waste Management. He was an avid Braves fan, loved fishing whereever he could, and helping others anytime help was needed. Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by four siblings.

Mr. Hinson is survived by children, Jennifer and Steve Fowler, Joey and Angie Hinson and Brandy Hinson; brothers, Mitchell Hinson and Ronnie Hinson; sisters, Wylene McElhenney, P a t s y Houston, and Diane Hinson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and by many friends at AP’s Hidden Hide-Away, Houston Auto Auction and The Whiskey River.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Mitchell Hinson at 3430 Joycliff Road in Jones County.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Shurlington Church of the Nazarene, 2160 Shurlington Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211.
