Parking and entry into the parking lots at Jones County High School is changing for home football games this season due to the ongoing construction projects there.
Athletic director Barry Veal said that those with general admission tickets will need to enter the campus from Railroad Street on the driveway between the tennis courts and school buildings.
They will then be directed to drive around the back of the high school into the student parking lot that is between the gym end of the school and the football stadium.
The entrance into the student parking lot nearest the football stadium, which was the main entrance for football games in past years, will be closed this season except for the shuttle busses.
Coaches, players, cheerleaders and season-ticket holders with parking passes will enter from Railroad Street up the hill at the far end of the stadium. Seasonticket holders will park beside the stadium, and others will park on the practice fields.
After games, the exit from the main student parking lot will be the driveway next to the gym, as it has been in the past.
“We’ve lost some parking spaces in that lot due to the construction, so we’ll also have parking in front of the Jones County Pre-K building (old Gray Elementary School),” Veal said. “We’ll have two busses shuttling people from there to the stadium, starting at 6:40 p.m. and running every 10 minutes. Then they will shuttle people back to the parking lot after the game.”
General admission tickets for home games will again be $8 at the gate. Advance tickets for $7 will be available at the high school office on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Those interested in season tickets should contact coach Justin Rogers or members of the Touchdown Club.
