Summer meals available for Jones County students

The Jones County School Nutrition Program will be providing safe and flexible meals under the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) to children during the summer months. Nationwide non-congregate feeding and mealtime waivers have been established by the United States Department of Agriculture. This program will provide five days worth of meals to children under the age of 18 and individuals up to age 21 with a state-identified disability. Meals will be distributed once a week to children, the child’s parent/guardian or bus delivered. For example, a pickup site will distribute five days of breakfast and lunch meals on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This bulk packaging option allows parents and children to enjoy nutritious meals all week without the hassle of picking up daily. The order form for meal delivery or pickup can be found on the Jones County School Nutrition webpage. The meal program will run from June 1 through July 23.
