The sixth annual statewide Bible reading will be held July 14 at 7:14 a.m. at the Jones County Courthouse, speaking the Word of God over Jones County and the nation.
Debra Hall, the coordinator for the event, said she’s excited for the Bible reading. She said she can’t wait to gather in fellowship with everyone and bless God by speaking His Word.
“This is the sixth annual statewide Bible reading, and we have done it since it came into existence. It’s based on 2 Chronicles 7:14, where God tells us four things we need to do,” she said. “This is why we are holding this event on July 14 at 7:14 a.m. on the Jones County Courthouse front lawn. This will be taking place in every county in Georgia at the same time.”
Hall said this is a time to gather together and stand in faith by reading God’s Word.
She said God’s Word brings comfort, instructions and warnings, and His Word is the only way to change things. She said reading the Bible makes a difference.
The coordinator said Jones County will be reading out of the book of Psalms this time. She said reading the Bible is so important, because of how things are in the world.
“Jones County is blessed, because we have so many Christians who do follow the Word of God and are not ashamed of it. Everyone always enjoys the annual Bible reading. It’s always such a blessing to have so many people show up. I can’t imagine how much it blesses God. We always have new people come, and we are happy to welcome them,” she said. “Everyone is welcome. If you love the Lord and His Word, this is for you.”
Hall said people should bring a folding chair and some water. She said the reading will take about an hour to host, and people should come out to the reading to take a stand. She said the reading blesses God, and she hopes to see even more people out this year at the event.
“My favorite thing about this event is knowing we are participating with other Bible readers all across America and around the world while doing something big,” she said. “This is a tremendous honor and privilege to be able to do this in Jones County.”
