The fifth annual statewide Bible reading marathon will take place at the Jones County Courthouse Friday, July 14 at 7:14 p.m., to bless the community with the Word of God.
Debra Hall, the coordinator of the event, said she strongly urges everyone to come out and participate. She said everyone in the community is welcome to come, and it will make an impact over everyone. She said it’s a life changing event.
“This is the fifth annual state-wide Bible reading marathon for Jones County. Christians in all Georgia counties will read from the Bible, and each county will have a specific portion of the scripture to read,” she said. “At the end of the day the Word of God has been declared out loud over our communities.”
She said this is an important time to come before God. She said Jones County will be reading out of second Samuel. She said people should bring folding chairs, and the inclement weather location will be the Gray Baptist chapel.
“The Word of God is the most powerful force in the universe. The Word of God is exactly what this world needs right now. Jesus is the only answer to any problem we have and any problem our world has. He is our only lasting solution,” Hall said.
The coordinator said no one will leave the event untouched by God’s Word. She said the Bible reading will release God’s blessings over the community. She said God’s Word never dies, so once they are spoken they are making changes.
“Everyone will absolutely love the Bible reading, and I hope they will be inspired to dig deeper into the Word of God,” she said. “There’s something about reading it out loud, because you hear it and God hears it. God gives us so much advice in His word.”
Hall said participants should bring their Bible to follow along. She said they will have a time of worship before the event starting at 6:30 p.m. for those who decide to arrive early. She said she can’t wait to see everyone at the event.
“My favorite thing about the state-wide Bible reading is the event itself.
You get to have fellowship with the people who come, and when we start the service, it’s blessing everyone. This is something special.”
