Mobile Food Truck

Jones County will receive only one Mobile Food Truck for this quarter. Mobile Food Truck from Middle Georgia Community Food Bank will be at Greater Jordan Chapel Church in Haddock on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Line will open at 11:00 am. There will be no Mobile Truck in Jones County for April nor May at Sunrise Ministry nor Greater Jordan Chapel Church.

The Velma McFadden Food Pantry is open 1st Saturday and 3rd Thursday from 10:00 11:30 am. For emergency food assistance, please call 478-957 8773 or Sunrise Ministry at 478 972-3500 for food assistance.

Book Sale

The Jones County Friends of the Library will host a book sale Saturday, April 8, 10:00-2:00, 273 Railroad St. in Gray on JC Pre-K campus, building next to the JCHS track. Incredible prices – many books are FREE. 1000’s of books of all types for all ages.

Feature of the Month – FICTION. Sponsored by JC Friends of the Library.

Mount Salem Missionary Baptist

The Mount Salem Missionary Baptist Church at 159 Cleveland St., Gray, invites you to attend Pastor Olanda Deshazier 1st Anniversary Celebration, April 30, 2023, at 1:00pm. The guest speaker for this occasion is Pastor Colby McKenzie and New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

Jones County Head Start

Now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Apply online at mgcaa.org. Documents required for registration are: Birth Certificate/Proof of Birth, Immunization Record Form 3231, Social Security Card, Proof of Income, GA Public Health Form 3300, Medicaid/Insurance Card, and Well Child Check. Free child development services for eligible families with children ages 3-5.

Child must be 3 by Sept. 1, 2023.

Transportation is not provided.

Sonrise Service

There will be a Sonrise Service at Round Oak Ancestor’s Memory Park on Sunday, April 9 at 6:45 a.m., led by Pastor Darrell Burns.

Come and join us in praise to Jesus Christ. Easter Service at Sunshine Church is at 9:45 a.m.

Salem AME Church

Norma Greene Butler Marsh Scholarship

Bradley Baptist Church is currently accepting applications for the Norma Greene Butler Marsh Scholarships. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be offered for the 2023 school year.

Applications are available to any graduating senior (only Jones County residents) attending Jones County High School in Gray. Applications may be obtained from the counselors’ office at Jones County High School or from Bradley Baptist Church, 821 Monticello Hwy. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Tuesday Friday. Application deadline is April 28, 2023 (postmarked April 28, 2023) mailed to Bradley Baptist Church, P.O.

Miriam Ethridge Pilot Club Scholarship

Applications for the Miriam Ethridge Pilot Club of Jones County Scholarships are currently being accepted.

Two $1,500 scholarships will be offered for the 2022-2023 school year. Applications for the scholarships are available to any high school senior who is a resident of Jones County.

Application forms may be obtained from the Counselor’s office at Jones County High School, or any of the following locations in Gray: Jones County Public Library, Ace Hardware, Exchange Bank, Magnolia Bank, Morris Bank and Cadence Bank.

The deadline for receiving applications is April 15, 2023.

Morton Johnson Scholarship

Students interested in applying for the Morton Johnson Scholarship for the 2023-2024 school year may pick up an application at the Jones County High School Counselor’s office or email: darscholarship@windstream.net.
