Old Clinton War Days

Old Clinton War Days will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. Battles begin at 2:05 each day. Saturday’s program will conclude at 8:05 p.m. with the 16th Georgia, Company G, Jackson Rifles, CSA conducting a memorial service in the Clinton Methodist Church Cemetery to honor Clinton’s Confederate dead. The Old Clinton Historic District is located 10 miles NE of Macon just off US Hwy 129. For more information, you may call 478-251-6745.

Book Sale

Book Lovers wanted. Saturday, May 13, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 273 Railroad Street in Gray, building next to the JCHS track. Thousands of books and audio visuals of all types for all ages. FEATURE OF THE MONTH: GARDENING AND HOME IMPROVEMENT. Sponsored by JC Friends of the Library.

Jones County Head Start

Now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Apply online at mgcaa.org. Documents required for registration are: Birth Certificate/Proof of Birth, Immunization Record Form 3231, Social Security Card, Proof of Income, GA Public Health Form 3300, Medicaid/Insurance Card, and Well Child Check. Free child development services for eligible families with children ages 3-5.

Child must be 3 by Sept. 1, 2023.

Transportation is not provided.

JCHS Unified Bingo Night Fundraiser

Jones County High School Unified will have a Bingo Night Fundraiser May 5 at the Jones County Fair Grounds. 6:00 p.m. (Dinner) and 7:00 p.m. (Bingo). Woodmen Life will serve a spaghetti dinner that includes bread, tea/lemonade for $6.00 per plate, all desserts are a $1.00 donation. $20 for 6 game sheets, $10 for extra pack, $2 for 1 extra card, $5 for 3 extra cards and $1 for daubers. A Silent Auction, 50/50 Raffle and door prizes will also be offered. All proceeds will benefit the Jones County Special Olympics.
