Highway 11 Halls of Horror’s doors are now open

Highway 11 Halls of Horror is ready to open their doors starting in October to scare and spook those who are looking for a Halloween thrill in Jones County.

The building is located at 1035 Highway 11 in Gray by the animal shelter. Halls of Horror will be open to the public Friday and Saturday nights in October. The hours of 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. is no scare, while 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. is full scare.

Dixie Curtis, the designer of the haunted school, said the attraction is open now for those who want to come and experience some Halloween fun. She said no scare is $10 per person, while full scare is $20 per person. For ticket information, visit https:// hwy11hallsofhorror.com/.

“Highway 11 Halls of Horror is important, because it allows fun for all ages and there isn’t a lot to do in Jones County,” she said. “Having a haunted school here seemed to fit, and we want to make it bigger and better each year.”

She said she was born and raised in Jones County, so it’s home to her. She said she enjoys the small-town bond.

The designer said they wanted to bring the haunted school to Jones County, because it brings something new to the area. She said it’s the perfect location for a place such as a haunted house or haunted school.

“I decided to open Highway 11 Halls of Horror, because as a kid I have always thought the old school would make a great haunted house. Halloween is my favorite holiday,” she said.

Curtis said people will be able to see vampires, zombies, witches, ghouls, and goblins at the haunted school. She said they had over 1,500 people visit the haunted school last year, and she hopes they get just as many this year.

She said they still need volunteers to help at the location, so if anyone is interested she said to call her at 478-808-9073 or reach out to her on https://www.facebook.com/ hwy11hallsofhorror/.

“This is going to be fun for all ages, “Curtis said. “My favorite thing about Highway 11 Halls of Horror is all the friendships that we as a Highway 11 family have formed. We hope to see people come out this year.”
