Jones County College & Career Academy holds mock interviews

Jones County College & Career Academy hosted Mock Interview events on Jan. 26 and again on Feb. 3 for high school students in the third level course of their pathway. In total, about 260 students received a professional one-on-one interview – an experience that provided immediate verbal and written feedback from local business and community leaders. Interviewers rated the students on their interview performance and professional dress to determine whether they would hire or not hire the student.

Lisa Collins, CEO of Jones County CCA, stated, “These events assist us in improving students’ employability skills in an authentic way that reinforces classroom instruction. By working together in partnership with our local community, we are helping to ensure a career pipeline with qualified workers for our central Georgia region.”

CTAE Teachers worked with the students on different lessons that help them learn and prepare for their future career. This prep work also helps to assist students with Career Tech Service Organizations regional and state competitive events occurring during this time.
