Peach Palette Design Co., a new shop in downtown Gray, is open for paint classes and outdoor decor needs.
The business is located at 118 West Clinton Street in Gray, and is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hailey Robinson, the owner of Peach Palette, said she’s always lived in Jones County, and she’s proud to be from Gray. She said she’s proud to have her son grow up here and be a part of the school system.
“I love the small-town feel, and how everyone knows each other,” she said. “There’s a strong community feel here. All the small business owners support each other and want to see each other succeed here in Gray.”
She said she just opened her shop in August of this year, and it’s already growing bigger. She said she can’t wait for people to check out her shop.
“Peach Palette is a paint studio that allows people to come in for public paint parties,” she said. “I’ll have public paint parties scheduled throughout the year, which are posted on social media. People can also schedule private paint parties, which people like to schedule around the holidays. I also have pre-made items people can buy if they have no desire to do a paint party.”
Robinson said Peach Palette Design Co. is important for Jones County, because her paint classes give the community something to do. She said downtown Gray is walkable, and her shop gives more of a variety of things to do in downtown Gray.
She said she does paint classes for all ages.
“Painting has always been therapeutic for me. It was always an at home hobby for the past ten years, but within the last two years I toyed with the idea of wanting my own business and taking it full time. I took a leap of faith, and the community support has been great, so here I am,” Robinson said.
The shop owner said painting became easier for her over time due to practice, but it wasn’t something she grew up doing.
She said people should do a paint class at Peach Palette, because it’s a good way to have fun with others and meet new people. She said she also has kits to take home and paint.
She has door hangers for purchase at her shop, and she said they are all hand cut. She said they are sealed, so they will last through the weather. She said she likes the outdoor decor, because she likes the idea of the outside of the house looking cute.
“I try to make my paint classes simple, so anyone can participate. A lot of people overthink and say they can’t do it. I want to show them what they can do. They should give it a chance and trust the process.
It’ll work out,” the shop owner said.
Robinson said her classes range from $35 to $55 per person typically, and her door hangers can go up to $55. She said she tries to keep her prices reasonable based on what she’d want to pay for the items. She wants people to give painting with her a try.
“I named my business Peach Palette, because I like to paint and we’re in Georgia where peaches are our thing,” she said.
“I thought the name was fitting.
It stuck out more than any other name. I just want people to give me a chance.”
