Real Life

–George Sheffield And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) The Word was born, made flesh, and He lived among us. The Word is Jesus Himself. Rev 19:13 tells us that one of Jesus’ names (and He has many) is The Word Of God. The Bible is the written word of God; Jesus is the living Word of God.

The disciples beheld His glory. They, with their own eyes, saw the Son of God in flesh. They hung out with Him on a daily basis for some three years. They are legitimate, eyewitnesses to His glory such as His miracles, His teachings, His transfiguration, and especially His resurrection.

The Word dwelt among us. Jesus knows what it’s like to live this life, to be hungry, to be tired, to be sorrowful, to die. Yet unlike us, He never sinned.

He was made flesh to die for flesh. Adam brought sin. Jesus brought us forgiveness of sin. Have you been forgiven? This is what Christmas is all about--the Word made flesh to die on a cross to shed His blood for the forgiveness of sin. Believe the Word and be saved.
